North Side Fire Brigade Raffles

This year, Our Club The North Side Fire Brigade will be running Two Separate Raffles.

 The First Raffle will help off-set our Taxes. The Raffle will be a $20.00 Split the pot Raffle Ticket. The prize's are based on percentages from the income of ticket sales. All $20.00 dollar Raffle tickets are due by April 5, 2008. The $20.00 Raffle Ticket drawing will be drawn at a party held in the The North Side Fire Brigade on  April 13, 2008 (2-B / E.M.S-2)

Our Second Raffle will be a $100.00 Split the pot Raffle Ticket This Raffle will also have the prizes based on the percentages from the ticket sales , The $100.00 Ticket drawing will be pulled again, during our Annual North Side Fire Brigade Picnic at Bunker Hill Grove # _6_ July 12, 2008 (  E.M.S. )

The Annual North Side Fire Brigade Picnic, at Bunker Hill Grove # (_6_).  Our Picnic will begin at Noon, and it will run until Dusk. We will have a D.J., There will be a Horse Shoe tournament, A bean bag tournament, Jumping Jacks, Pony Rides, Slides, Egg Toss, Games and Prizes for all of the children. As always there will be an abundance of Delicious B.B.Q. and of course, Ice Cold Soda, Beer and Wine! More Details are still to follow.

The North Side Fire Brigade is also looking for VOLUNTEERS to help out during Our Picnic. We are looking for a few of our club members to assist in the Set Up of grills and supplies, We will need some of our club members to assist with the B.B.Q. detail, perhaps some of your children could help with our Raffle Sales, and finely we will need a Clean Up and Break Down Crew. Each and every year OUR Picnic had become that little bit better. It is designed for our families to enjoy! Please, We are asking for you to step up and give that helping hand, that is needed to make every year that little bit more easier on everyone.

SCRUB OUT

Our Rear Hall Rentals have been put on hold . The Front Hall will still be open to our club members and their guests. During this time, Our Goal is to have a huge "SCRUB OUT" it has been just over a year since our last major cleaning. We are asking our members to come out and assist with the scrub out.

PLEASE call the North Side Fire Brigade at 773-545-3883. Let us know when you can be available to help with the "SCRUB OUT" and Thank you.

We are asking our members to donate some of their time. It is usually the same members again and again, helping with the parties, picnics, and outings. If each member would donate just a little bit, the burden would be lighter on the members who have always been there for the membership and the club.  "What you can do to help"? We need help with the disregarding of  items that no longer in use, cleaning, repairing any trim that may have come loose, plumbing,  re-grouting the floor tile, perhaps just tightening the screws on the stools and or painting the club, Even if you came out just to extend moral support, that would be extremely helpful. Perhaps you could interject with a few suggestions to improve the club, after all remember, it is "OUR CLUB" any and all suggestions are always be helpful.

History  Lesson

October 9, 1871                                                           

The Great Chicago Fire, started aprox.  9:oopm on Sunday evening, on October 8, 1871. Somewhere in or very near The O'Leary Barn, which was located at 440 W. DeKoven Street. Now the home of the City of Chicago, Quinn Fire Academy. To this day the exact particulars of The Great Chicago Fire's origins are still unknown.   

The Great Chicago Fire is also why nation wide Fire Prevention week is held in the second week of  October.

Veterans Day Steak Fry

 The North Side Fire Brigade will be serving a complete Steak Fry Dinner. The cost will be $20.00 a person. We will be serving Tossed Salad, a delicious New York Strip Steak, Baked Potato, steamed vegetables, wild rice and Italian bread. Dinner will be served, During the Chicago Bears V.S. Oakland Raiders Football Game (4:15 kick off). We will need a head count prior to November 4, 2007 as to order the proper amount of Steaks, potatoes etc...
