North Side Fire Brigade 2012The N.S.F.B. hopes you and your family are off to a good start for 2012. We would also like to thank the many members and their families for all the support by helping and attending our many events over the last year. Not to mention all the help with Sunday Football which would not be possible without active participation from the membership.
2012 Strike PartyFeb 13 & 14 , 2012 the N.S.F.B. $10.00 sign in for soup cold cuts and BEER to celebrate the contract and benefits Which were earned by the men who went on strike in 1980, so that we have a contract that we enjoy today. Thank-you B.O.B. a good time was had by all members.
Volunteer Friday’s for CFD Charities. we started Volunteer Fridays on the 1st Friday of January. The N.S.F.B. donates $50 and all tips go into the Fund. Currently we are raising money for the Chaplain’s Fund (1/7/2011 till 5/6/2011) on Friday May 13 we will present a check to the Chaplain's Fund at the retiree’s breakfast. During the April membership meeting The N.S.F.B. Will vote on which charity to direct our money. Volunteer Friday’s are a good day for you or your company/ firehouse to donate a day and help raise money for CFD charities. Call or stop in to sign up 773-545-3883.
Tax Day Raffle April 15, 2012 Every member will receive two $20 raffle tickets along with your news letter; you may buy or sell them. The raffle drawing will be held Friday April 15th, 2012, your brigade counts on this money to offset our high taxes. Please support your brigade and you also have a chance to win some money.
Family Fish Fry 5: oopm – 8: oopm every Friday during Lent Starting on Friday February 25th (2-B / EMS-4) and every Friday till Good Friday. We will be hosting a family fish fry $7.oo per person, kids 12 and under free. All kids 13 and over must show ID, finger print, DNA etc....
Northwest Side St Patrick’s Day Parade Sunday Mar 11, 2012 (2-c / EMS-2) we will assemble by our fire engine at 9:45am at Onaham School, There will be coffee and doughnuts, Bring the wife and kids and dress in your dress uniform or bunker coat / helmet.
Annual Golf Outing T.B.A.At Indian Boundary 0800 tee-off!
Includes golf, cart and then back to the Brigade for lunch and BEER. Stop in and sign up your foursome.
Annual Family Picnic Saturday July 14, 2012 (1-D / EMS-2) Noon till Dusk Grove #6. This is one of the greatest events we have all year. It would be wonderful to see you all out there. We will have discounted tickets in May. This is our biggest event Music, Food, Beer, Slides, Bean bag tournament, pony rides, raffles, And an animal show by Cold Blooded Creathers. Make your trades now; you and your family will not want to miss this. This year we are having our own D.J. Host the Picnic.
Family will cost $50.00 @person the day of the Picnic, or $40.00 in advance. Single is $25.00 @person the day of the Picnic, or $20.00 in advance. * Family is Two Adults and children under the age of eighteen years of age.
We need volunteers to help out at The North Side Fire Brigade Picnic.
Every year we have the same people setting up, running and cleaning up after the picnic. It is our Brigade Let's all lend a helping hand.
*** New Meeting Night***
The N.S.F. B. Will be changing meeting night to the 2nd Tuesday of the month. This is so we can discuss any motions that might need to be brought up at the monthly Local 2 meetings. There will be a $10.oo sign in at 7pm, BEERS from 7 till 11pm (add $5 to sign in if you drink imports or mixed drinks) Please mark your calendars now.

Family CPR class T.B.A.
This will be a free class for our family members and our retiree’s. If you have kids or grand kids this is a great class to take every couple of years. Joe White does an excellent job with this 2hr class.

Your Brigade counts on this money for our month to month budget. As of right now 50% of our members owe dues. We would rather you stop in and get a shake of the day when you pay your dues, but you can send them in too. 6240 W. Addison St. Chicago IL, 60634 and you can also stop in or call to check your status between noon till 7:00pm M-F. 773-545-3883. if you come to a couple of our functions it’s almost like we pay you to be a member.
EMT Con Ed We are looking into the possibility of holding future Con. Ed. at the Brigade, but in the mean time, it would be nice if our members could bring a group back to the brigade after con. Ed.

please stop in and sign the log book.Your Brigade is a great place to watch a sporting event. We have six (6) LCD TV’s and a 15' projector TV. There is not a bad seat in the house. Let us know if you want to open for a game or any other function and we can work with you.
Saturday May Kentucky Derby / Cinco De Mayo day Party doors open at noon.
NEXT YEAR we are looking to host a ST. BALDRICKS HEAD SHAVING EVENT. We are looking for volunteers to help set up the festivities
