North Side Fire Brigade Meeting minuets July 27, 2009

We discussed The Picnic status; this year was a complete success. Our Treasure was at the Fire house so we did not have a financial report.

We have plenty of Tee shirts at the Brigade. We have a New Design, on the tee and also some with Pockets

We are already discussing NEXT YEARS PICNIC, because this year was such a success, we want to make next year even better we had 397 people attend this year’s picnic. If you have a suggestion that could improve The North Side Fire Brigade Picnic, please feel free to submit your suggestion, remember it is your club; it is also your picnic.

Next year Mark Pallister has already stood up and has taken on the responsibility of running the kids games, races etc…. We thank you Mark.

We wish to thank Kenny Taylor of Truck 25, and his Band “C.T.J.” for terrific music they kept our day rocking and rolling. They did a wonderful job! We will have them back again next year.

If you have been collecting Pop Tops at home or at the fire house, we are ready to turn them into the specified charities

The Remodel project at the Brigade will be postponed until after the football season we’re looking at February. We are also looking for volunteers

Chicago Cubs vs. Milwaukee Brewers Baseball Game Sept 22, 2009. Bus ride, tickets and tailgate party. All this for only $75.00 first come first served, no tickets will be held unless ticket has been paid for. It is a wonderful day; we have a ball every time we have made the game.

Steak Fry on Veterans Day November 11, 2009 we are still working out the details. We did very well with the fish fry during Lent. we thought Veterans Day would make a nice day for a Steak Fry.

At our monthly meeting a Motion was made by Steve Bezazian for the North Side Fire Brigade to purchase two $50.00 Sponsor Cards to support the Annual Wreath Ride ( a ride to honor our firefighters who died in Line Of Duty Deaths) Every year this motorcycle ride has been organized and run by The American Fire Fighter Motorcycle Club. The North Side Fire Brigade has chosen to sponsor: John Herder’s Wreath, as well as John Grassers’ wreath. The Motorcycle ride will wind up at the GOLD BADGE FAMILY PICNIC. Which is located just East of Solders field, in the Chicago Fire Fighter’s Memorial Site.

The picnic was a big success everyone had a good time the
Brigade made a little profit. I will post the names of our 50/50 raffle
tomorrow.

We our in the planning stages to do a CPR class for interested members and their
families. You need to send a message back and stating how many will be in your
group. And we will set a date.
Construction will begin shortly and as I said in the news letter everything from
the 50/50 raffle will go back into the Brigade. Just over $5000 ,we thought we
would've sold a lot more but are very great full that we sold 210 tickets.
(about the same as $100 tickets last year)
We will start SUNDAY FOOTBALL again in Sept. This year we are going to increase
the price to $25 all you can eat and drink. (up $5 from last year) The extra
money will go into building fund for improvements. Bring your wife if you like,
it's a cheap date. And we can set up a X-box for the kids.
Sat Sept 19 we will be having a fundraiser for the 5-11 club. These are the guys
that run the canteen for extra alarms. They will have a $10 50/50 raffle and $12
t-shirts the party will be $20 in advance and $25 at the door. All you can eat
and drink (domestic beer) I will need some volunteers to help sell raffle
tickets and t-shirts. Please send a message back if you can help. Remember these
are the guys that volunteer on their own time to staff the canteen for us.
We have had some members ask if we can do a karaoke night at the Brigade and our
response was we can do what ever we want but we need help from our members. If
you have any suggestions or would like to get more involved in the club please

As of January 28, 2008, $3,300.00 is our bank balance after all bills have been paid.
Due to some recent over drawn charges, and a few bills that were paid late, there has been a request made by our members,
to keep a ledger and the N.S.F.B. Check Book at the N.S.F.B. At all times.
OFFICER ELECTIONS RULES:
At the February 25’s Monthly Meeting, Nominations for N.S.F.B. Officers, will be open.
* All members Nominated, must be members in good standing.
Voting for
N.S.F.B. Officers will be in the Brigade, at the March 31, April 28 Meetings.Votes cast at the Meetings, but may also be cast by proxy, or mailed in to the N.S.F.B.
