We, The Fire Museum of Greater Chicago, have secured the abandoned quarters of Engine Co. No. 123 @ 5200 S. Western for the new quarters of YOUR Chicago Fire Dept. Museum.

We thank Ald. Ed Burke, 14^{th Ward, for his assistance in this
venture and all the City people involved.}

We have started the renovation process of these quarters so that the move from St. Gabriel School can take place as soon as possible. This will be a massive endeavor. To be blunt; It is a mess and needs tons of muscle and manpower w/TLC. Plumbing, painting, scrapping, razing, glazing, electric, carpentry, masonry. All the trades are needed and I am asking for your help to complete this worthwhile effort.

We have priceless historic artifacts and records of the CFD and its personnel. All for you and your familys pleasure and interest.

Please give me, or another board director, a call if you can give some time or get together with some other members and volunteer some help. We need ideas too. My home # 773-267-5839 or cell= 773-206-9555. Thanks for your attention.

Hello,
This is a suggestion of a film to watch, This documentary has moved my heart. It is called "ALIVE DAY" it is to be aired September 9, 2007, with James (Tony Soprano) Gandolfini as he interviewed ten of our wounded Heroes of the Iraq war. It was a very soulful story. God Bless him as well as all the others both, here and abroad who have given them selves and served to protect all of us here. The old slogan of “All gave some, but some gave all“. I know that it hangs in the back of my mind, I guess I didn’t think of it’s true meaning until I actually saw the after effects and the devastation. They are truly HERO'S.
